Design
Whole page · the printed page has no watermark or logo.
Some text does not fit: a word is too wide for its space, or text is too close to the edge of the sign, where most printers cut it off. Shorten the title or the message, make something smaller (click or tap it on the sign), or try another design.

How to make a yard sale sign in 3 steps
-
Choose the kind of sale
Yard, garage, estate, moving, multi-family, rummage or bake sale. Rewrite the title if you like.
-
Add when and where
The date (and a second day if there is one), the times, the address and the arrow’s direction. Leave the date, times or address empty to write them in by hand.
-
Print a few and post them
Print one with the arrow pointing right and one pointing left for each corner. Half-page signs fit two to a sheet.
What to put on a yard sale sign
- The kind of sale, in the biggest letters.
- The date and times: drivers decide in a few seconds, so keep them short (“Sat 8 AM – 2 PM”).
- The address, or just the street name if the arrow does the rest.
- A big arrow pointing the way, on every sign that is not right in front of the sale.
- Two or three words on what you sell, if you want: “Furniture, toys, tools”.
Tips for signs people can read from a car
- Fewer words, bigger letters. Red or black on white reads best.
- Put a sign at each turn from the nearest busy road, with the arrow pointing the way.
- Tape the sign to a piece of cardboard or a foam board so it does not flap, and slip it into a clear sleeve if rain is forecast.
- Some towns need a permit for yard sales or limit where signs can go (often not on utility poles, traffic signs or medians). Check your town’s rules.
- Take every sign down when the sale is over.
Printing, cutting and folding
- Print at 100% (Actual size). Most printers cannot print the outer 1/4 inch, so the designs stay inside it.
- Half page: choose “cut” for two signs per sheet, or “fold” for a table tent at the checkout table.
- Card stock (65–110 lb / 170–300 gsm) holds up better outdoors than plain paper.
Frequently asked questions
Is this yard sale sign maker free?
Yes. It is free to use, needs no account or sign-up, and never adds a watermark or a SnapPaperwork logo to your sign.
Can I add an arrow?
Yes. Choose an arrow pointing right or left (or none). Print one of each to point the way from both directions.
Can I leave the date or address blank and write it by hand?
Yes. Leave them empty and the sign prints a line to write on, so you can keep a stack of signs for every sale.
Can I make a sign for a two-day sale?
Yes. Fill in the second day and it is printed under the first, after “and”.
What paper sizes does it print on?
US Letter and A4, as a full page or as two half-page signs on one sheet.
Is my information uploaded or stored on your servers?
No. Everything you type stays in your browser and is never sent to me. It is saved on your own device so it is there next time.
