Words on the sign

The words follow the kind of code until you type your own.

Look Colours

Rounded and dots soften the squares; the three big corner squares stay solid so phones still find the code. Scan it with your phone before you print.

It changes with the kind of code until you type your own. Leave it empty for no line.

Logo in the middle (opt.)

With a logo the code switches to its strongest error correction, and the logo covers less than a fifth of its width. Kept in this browser only; not included in a share link.

PNG for documents, slides and social posts; SVG for a print shop or a design app. Share link sends a link that shows this code, ready to scan: nothing is uploaded, the code travels inside the link.

Print at 100% (“Actual size”), not “Fit to page”. Scan one code from the printed page before you print or cut the rest.

A Telegram QR code and a sign to go with it

Type your Telegram username and this page makes a QR code that opens t.me/your-username, plus a sign that says “Join us on Telegram”. Print it for a notice board, a counter, a shop window or a flyer.

The code is a plain link, so it keeps working as long as the username does. Nothing you type is uploaded, and there is no account to make.

How to make a Telegram QR code

  1. Type your username

With or without the @. If you have a link already, for example for a private group, paste that instead.

  2. Scan the code

Check with your own phone that it opens the right channel, group or profile.

  3. Print or save

Print the sign in a full, half or quarter page, or save the code as a PNG or SVG.

Telegram’s FAQ says that once you have a username, people can reach you with a “t.me/username” link. Telegram’s developer page for deep links lists the same form, t.me/<username>. This page builds exactly that link from the username you type.

A username in Telegram can use a-z, 0-9 and underscores, according to the FAQ, so this page asks you to check any other character. If you paste a whole link instead, the code holds it as you pasted it.

Where a Telegram sign works

  • A club, a class or a community notice board, to join the group chat.
  • A shop counter, for order updates or offers sent to a channel.
  • An event, so that guests can ask questions in one place.
  • A flyer or a poster.

If you change your username

The code opens t.me followed by the username you typed. If you rename the channel, group or account, the old code will not reach it: make and print a new one.

Frequently asked questions

Does the code open the Telegram app?

The code holds a web link, and what happens next depends on the phone and on whether Telegram is installed. Scan it on an iPhone and an Android phone if you can, and use the sign’s words to say what you want people to do.

Can I make a code for a channel or a group?

Yes, if it has a public username. Type that username. For a private group, paste its invite link instead.

What characters can a Telegram username have?

Telegram’s FAQ says a-z, 0-9 and underscores. This page checks for other characters, because they would give a link that does not work.

Does it expire?

No. It is a static code, and it works for as long as the username does.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

It is free, with no account and no watermark. What you type stays in your browser.
